Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers. The funeral went well except for the rain, it poured down from the time we got to the chapel and then for the rest of the day. I've heard that the rain is supposed to be lucky at a funeral but i'm not sure who for!

It was good to see Dad put to rest and to see relatives i havn't seen for years but such a sad day.

We are having an extension built at home and where they have lifted part of the excisting roof ready to put on the new roof and join up the old one the rain got in and when we got home from the funeral we were greeted by dripping wet ceilings in 2 bedrooms and also down stairs in the hall. We could well have done with out that. Rob went up on to the roof and tried to secure where the rain was getting in and then today it was dripping again. The roofer has been in and stopped it again (hopefuly).

Wishing you all a Happy and pain free 2012.

Love Shirley x

Hi Shirley

I am glad that the funeral went well but sorry you had to face the raining in when you got home. I hope it is fixed now and you can start to get your house sorted out. I hope 2012 is a better year for you.

I never know whether you can say a funeral went "well" or not. It just is something that passes and needs to be "right" I think.

We had a load of works done in 2011 to our home and so know what its like

Last few bits for us now (gutters/ painting etc)

much love- take your sadness time out that you need.

Aw-what a horrible homecoming for you.

It poured with rain at my dad's funeral and the undertaker told us it was God's tears for a very special person.
YES I'VE CHANGED, PAIN DOES THAT TO PEOPLE.
